Australia, you believed all his campaign promises and elected him.
Already, the disappointment is thick - except in the thick. But Im sure they will catch up eventually.
Maybe you didnt like Howards ideas. Maybe they scared you. After all, Aussies have a pretty sweet deal here at home.
But things cant stay as they are if you want to (continue?) (better?) play on par with the rest of the world.
And you do, dont you? If you didnt, you wouldnt all have (or want) cable tv, iPhones, multiple car households, a McDonalds in every suburb, and Sex in the city box sets.
Naysayers, shut yer yaps, you know Im right. Ive heard plenty of anti-American sentiment, and have come to understand that a great many people -worldwide- greatly dislike America. Just not enough to shun its consumer goods and . Sic transit gloria mundi.
Whether you liked him or not, John Howard saw that substantial changes were necessary to help Australia become competitive with other dominant global economic powers. And you voted him out for it. Myopic!
My bet is: Unlike his predecessor, weasel boy will get absolutely nothing of value done toward Australias greater good. Theres going to be a lot of lip service, slick used car salesman showmanship and hair styling products on show while he extracts more money from your pocket, and vigorously campaigns to win the next election.
Australia, if you allow that to happen, you will only get what you deserve.

Your posture is like a double sided mirror. As you may have heard your mom tell you to sit up straight at the dinner table or at your computer desk, it can influence a lot more than just your appearance. Your spine holds your nervous system which in turn controls your entire body. Now imagine your posture being a representative of how your spine and nerves are being stretched. Poor posture will cause an interference with the nervous system and can cause a variety of disease.
Improving your posture is going to take some work especially with the habits of today’s modern living, but in the long run will increase your chances of living a healthier life. If the health of your nervous system is not your priority, you must be warned research has shown that erect posture has also been linked success in the business world and taking off a few years off your real age. So if success or looking younger is your priority, read on.
To discuss what things can be done to improve your posture, the need to understand what good posture is becomes important. Your spine has three major curves that hold your body erect and create an “S” shaped curvature throughout the spine. This “S” curve is designed much like a spring to absorb the compressive load and is able to handle tensile loads by optimally balancing muscles on the front and back of the spine. With a sedentary lifestyle or sitting for prolonged hours, your body adapts to the hunched-over posture your spine will resemble a “C” curve instead of the nice “S.” This not only increases your risk of injury but is also responsible for a long list of symptoms. Are you suffering from headaches, muscle aches and imbalances, tingling and numbness in the extremities, carpal tunnel syndrome, joint pain or dysfunctions, sciatica, chronic fatigue syndrome, and most importantly, poor posture? The reason may just be that.
If someone is observing you from the side, your ear, shoulder, hip, and ankle should all line up in a straight line. Now this becomes complicated if you have rounded shoulders and a forward head posture. If you are being looked at from the front, your feet must not be turned out or in noticeably. There should be not rotation or tilt in your head, and your chin and belly button, should be in a straight line.
Exercise is the most basic and well known remedy to improving your posture. For those of you who are gym rats, you do take your poor posture with you to the gym. Working out with a good posture is in a sense more important than having good posture while you sit at your desk. When you do exercises that place your spine in more of a “C” type curve, it is making you more prone to injury.
Most people suffer from what is called an “Anterior Weight Bearing” or a forward head posture. In simple terms, your head is more forward than the rest of your body and from the side your ear and shoulder do not line up. To correct this posture, while you are seated at your chair before starting to do hours and hours of work at your desk, you can tuck your chin in and retract your chin back towards your neck and hold that position for three full breaths. You can start at five repetitions, and build up from there. In order to correct shoulders that are rounded forward, you can extend your arms out and up to about shoulder height, bent at the elbows. Imagine a pencil in between your shoulder blades and your job is to squeeze that pencil in between your scapulas. You should feel a stretch along your chest and the front of your shoulders. Hold for three full breaths and repeat 5 times.
Improving your posture and re-creating the normal “S” curve in your spine can increase your range of motion, optimize your nerve function, reduce tension in your neck, shoulders, and jaw, expand your lung capacity, relieve muscle aches and sciatica, and most importantly make you look and feel younger!
Correcting your posture or rebuilding it may take some work, but you have to be aware that if you have a structurally rotated, or translated, or shifted spine, then exercises alone will not improve your posture. A hand full of chiropractic doctors here in California focus their doctorate studies in Postural Correction. Consult with one if you suffer from poor posture and it is affecting your health. I. Daddy Woes, A Long Time Coming
Daddy, Daddy, you bastard, Im through. -Sylvia Plaths (For you, Robyn.)
This was supposed to be a one-part musing, until I got off the phone with a certain someone. Those of you who know me in real life know that I used to be rather hesitant about answering the phone when the caller ID reads but as of late, Ive felt more comfortable about it, and so when he called just a little bit ago, I answered cheerfully, and took the call out into the hallway to give myself privacy from Kyla and Ben, and them from me.
I came back in feeling as I usually do after a phone call with Dad a little hurt, a little angry, and a little bit like Id like to burst into tears and confused about all those different emotions fluttering around in me.
Up until the Great Hispanic-American Brady Bunch Wedding a few months ago, all my friends knew about my feelings for my dad. I was angry. I was hurt. A LOT. There was no about it. Id spent so many years idolizing my dad because of how he victimized himself (more on this below) that when I finally started realizind he hadnt been a good dad, all the years of repressed emotion started building up in me.My sisters and I had regular conversations where we sat down and discussed what we felt about Dads latest phone conversation or email. We eventually became so fed up with it all that we became cold about it, almost unemotional.
And then the G.H-A.B.B. Wedding. We all went out there with this whole, What-the-hell-ever. Well go. Well drink the free booze, have good sister time, and smile, and then he can stay on his side of the country, and well stay on ours. But something about that long weekend changed my perspective. I went from being angry and hurt and to a more, Well, great, hes happy, thats cool, I can move on now frame of mind. When I talked to my dad after that (mind you, it was three weeks after we got home before he called again), I wasnt hesitant, I wasnt so angry.
And all of this has been building and progressing over the past few months. We still didnt talk often, maybe once or twice a month, but when we did talk, I started to feel different. I didnt realize how different until I started talking about it to Robyn the other day. s likeI kind of want him to be more a part of my life now. I dont know where it came from. I told her, I dont understand it, because I havent forgiven him for all the shit in the past, so Im confused by wanting to talk to him and see him more. Maybe its because hes got the New Family now, and I feel like if I am going to have a Stepmother and Stepbrothers, we take family so seriously in my Real Family that I want to feel like the New Family is actually part of the Family. And then Robyn replied, utterly seriously, and I think it broke both of our hearts just a little, and sometimes you just need your dad in your life.
What are my dads crimes? Those of you who are just Internet Buddies are asking, right? No, my father was never emotionally or physically abusive. He is a charming and charismatic person. His flaws are much more human and therefore understandable. He is selfish and emotionally manipulative. Back when my mom divorced him, he was too selfish to change his lifestyle in order to make the relationship work. He moved away, instead of staying nearby to still be a part of our lives. During the next ten or so years, he constantly played the victim so that I grew up completely misunderstanding the dynamic of my parents divorce, believing him to actually be victimized and wondering why my mom was hurting us so much, instead of feeling like I do now that my mom was an incredibly strong woman to get out of a relationship that didnt meet her standards and an incredibly amazing person for raising the three of us as well as she did.
This is the man who would tell us we were the most important thing in the world to him, then would go out drinking with his buddies, leaving Jeannie and I (maybe 9 and 12, respectively) home alone at the condo, with nothing to do but watch SNL reruns. On our one weekend a month visit to him. This man drove drunk with his two youngest daughters in the car. There were countless choir concerts, plays, dance recitals and proms that he never made it to trivial stuff, yes, but stuff that was important to me growing up. Maybe it would have been okay that he never made it, if only he were holding down a steady job and genuinely supporting us then. But he wasnt.
Through all the moving to Tucson, trying out Paducah for a summer (one of the worst I can remember), and then moving back because we werent enough to keep him there mess, I was still thinking, whatever makes Dad happy. I remember, with clarity, the day two Octobers ago, when I woke up with this sense of forboding about me, a real grey day, and then realized it was the day Dad was moving back to Tucson from Paducah. (Coincidentally the same day I found out Holly was leaving, but thats a whole other blog but a great day, wasnt it?) It wasnt until about a year or less ago that I thought, You know, he says that we are the most important thing in the world to him an awful lot, but if we were the most important thing in the world to him, he would have stayed. Because thats what being a parent is sacrifice. Thats what the most important thing in the world does to you you have to be near that person or those people, no matter how not ideal the living situation is, because you love them that much.
And now youre basically caught up there was the whole Denira-wedding annoucement thing, where I spent another few weeks trying to explain my emotions to Dad and how I felt hurt that he had gone and found a brand new family to take care of, how he quite drinking for them, and how even if thats not what he intended I still felt like we were being replaced. And he did the emotional manipulative thing where he started feeling so upset and not even listening to what I was saying that I ended up feeling like the bad person because I made him upset, so I squashed down all my feelings and just assured him I was fine, so we could just. let. it. go.
This is almost too self-pitying for me to write (sorry this entire post thus far has been like this), but I almost feel like, emotionally, I have to be the parent in our relationship. I have to say what makes him happy. Ive had to sacrifice my happiness so he can go off in pursuit of his.
And yet, somehow, I came to peace with all of this within the last few monthsor at least thought I did.
But then I had that phone call with my dadwhere he asked if I were student teaching any time soonand what I said was, politely, No, I havent been in education for a long time. If I did that, Id have to stay behind probably at least another two years. But inside, I wanted to say, You have no fucking idea whats going on in my life. He talked about his new routine with Denira and the kids, and how NOW he kinda likes it [the routine], how NOW hes ready to get into a sort of 9-5 regular, steady job. NOW NOW NOW.
I didnt realize how upset I was until I was about to hang up with him, and then it all came back to me. NOW hes ready to settle down and raise a family and be reliable and be home. With Denira and her three kids from another man. (Nothing against Denira and the boys, mind you.) NOW. Not when his ACTUAL FUCKIN FAMILY was growing up. Not when his actual three daughters needed him, wanted to be around him, and wanted him to spend his time with them, instead of out boozing or partying.
Its infuriating. It breaks my heart. One the one hand, I cant lay one serious, resounding accusation at the feet of my father, other than absentia. Other than being so caught up in his own persona that he continously confused us by saying he loved us more than anything else, and then immediately not proving a single word of that to be true.
But so much of the time, it feels like I have no real father. As much as I love love love JB and Bro. Rick, and look up to people like Dr. Ted Brown and Randy Black and Brian Barker, none of those people are my actual father. I should not feel like my preacher or my theatre professor are more of a father to me than my actual dad is. And I feel like theres this little girl inside of me who never grew up once my dad left, and she just hides away, only coming out when I get off the phone with him or visit him, and she goes, s my daddy? Its something Ive never gotten over. And like Ive said several times through this post
That feeling is something that breaks my heart. Every single time I think about it.
In my mind, I have no father.
There was to be a Part II to this musings blog where I talk about what the hell Im going to do after graduation and dream/artistic side of me versus practical/need-to-support-myself side, and the whole MFA in Creative Writing versus Real Job dilemmna, but this post turned out to be overly dramatic and emotionally and above all, LONNNNG, so Ill draft Part II and save it for another day.
Thanks for reading, if you made it this far. This is about ten years of emotions off my chest, and now I feel like I can go about my life for a while.
Love to all, especially those of you who have been listening to all this mess for however long and are still going to comment and be the wonderful people Im so blessed to have in my life.
xoxo.

Stress and Health
Stress is a term used to describe a pattern of physiological responses which are directed to specific events in our lives. It is also a term that has fallen into fashion in recent years, particularly when referring stress to the context of work, productivity and health.
Common perception affirms stress as an undesirable and unhealthy issue. However, this affirmation is quite imprecise. In fact, stress is a major evolutionary advantage of the human body, enabling individuals to quickly react to endangering situations - and most likely improve the ability to evaluate, assess and cope with the .
Primarily, the Hypothalamus (region of the brain responsible for controlling the Autonomic Nervous System) identifies a stressor (which could be any event - such as a noise) and automatically prepares the body to react to that stressor. This is done through sending signals to both the ANS and the Pituitary Gland (limbic system) - which in turn, activate a response mechanism by stimulating body organs to change their regular activity. This response mechanism is identified by: increase of blood pressure, heart rate, sugar levels and re-direction of blood flow to major organs. The body also improves respiration by dilating air passages, stopping digestion in order to direct focus (energy) to parts of the body and increasingly produces adrenaline (epinephrine).
All this process occurs in a few seconds - and it was particularly to increase survival chances either by challenging the situation, or by escaping from it. All these biological features are commonly expressed (or perceived) as emotions. For instance, you may experience fear or excitement in a biologically endangering situation. You may also experience the stress positively or negatively. In positive instances, we comply with our biological reactions, using increased awareness and body conditions to our own advantage. In negative instances, stress is commonly associated with anxiety - and the outcome is having difficulty in dealing with the situation. A very common example is a student who, even though had intensively studied for an examination, cannot perform during the exam.
The role of perception is extremely important in determining the health issues associated with the incidence of stress. Primarily, although stress is a natural and desired response to particular situations - it is also supposed to be temporary. The human body is not capable of sustaining a stressful environment for a long time without damaging cells, organs and other components of the system. Therefore, recurring stressful situations are an actual threat to our body. Recurring stress can cause brain cells to be damaged or destroyed, and induce problems related to blood pressure and heart rates. Coronary Heart Disease (CHD) was identified as one of the major causes of stress-related death.
The concept of cognitive appraisal comprises the two steps an individual usually undertakes when faced with a stressful situation: first, an evaluation of the threat and secondly, an assessment of the resources available to deal with that threat. The worse a threat is perceived, and the lowest the available resources are accounted for - the more an individual will be distressed and emotionally affected. It is a logical human response: the more you can control your environment, the more confident youll feel to face any challenges. For this reason, equal stimuli may have disparate responses by two different people. In this content, confidence and personal balance plays a big role in defining the emotional effect a stressful moment will cause. One of the strategies for stress refers to the ability of moulding our emotional responses in order to better adapt to stressing situations: When an animal can learn a coping response that allows it to avoid contact with an aversive stimulus, its emotional response will disappear (Carlson Buskist, 1997). By controlling our perception of an event, we are able to shorten stressful periods, and furthermore, reduce psychological harm from stressful events.
Stress Management in Counselling
Counsellors are constantly dealing with stress from both personal and professional perspectives. The manner in which counsellors deal with stress commonly defines how theyll approach a clients stress-related situation. When considering stress and its effects, it is important that we think in terms of association or relationship between the cause[s] and the effect[s] of the stress. To think of either of these (that is the cause or the effect) in isolation will not give appropriate answers, as it is the overall picture - the relationship between the cause and the effect - that we are interested in. This relationship between the cause and the effect is known as the stimulus and response association.
Self Exercise
Take a little time and write down some words or phrases which you would use to describe the feelings or symptoms of what you would describe as . Consider the causes and effects of these feeling and symptoms that signify stress to you.
Stress and Performance Outcomes
Stress, with its associated physiological, mental and emotional states and changes, is an interesting and complex issue. There are times when stress makes us feel bad and we perform unsatisfactorily, and there are times when the right degree of stress can be good for us as it sharpens our focus (as mentioned in the previous article). The relationship between stress and performance is such that:
* The right amount of stress can be performance enhancing as it facilitates the availability and release of motivational energy when and where required.
* Too little stress does not get the blood flowing and reduces the availability of motivational energy.
* Chronic stress such as boredom can produce an entropic effect which draws upon and reduces the store and availability of psychoemotional energy.
* Shorter term stress can temporarily reduce access to and the flow of motivational energy, while acute stress can virtually short circuit the mental schema and effectively block access to motivational energy, or alternatively, impel us to an abnormally high level of activity, albeit uncontrolled.
Given the relationship between stress and emotional performance, it is noted that constant boredom and being unable to find outlets for our mental and creative energy can also be another common cause of stress. The effects of boredom leave us feeling similar to the way we do when experiencing other forms of chronic stress. Boredom also adversely affects performance and general wellbeing.
Life situations where there is too little stress are very common, indeed they may be more common than situations of overstress. Almost all environments, including those of marriage and the workplace, can eventually lead to diminished opportunity for creative expression and boredom if something active is not done to counter this natural entropic process.

It's so amazing that I have gotten emails from several people telling me to delete my nasty blog about no one calling! That I have offended people, the audacity of it all. If you don't like what I write then don't read my blog, at this point I could care less. I am starting a new chapter in my life and I only have room for my friends and family that give me energy, not the ones that drain me. Am I being bitter, yes. To tell you the truth the moment I married Dennis and he went to Afghanistan only a few people came around. Then Dennis went to Iraq and the few friends and family that came around last time never showed for this deployment. And then there's hurricane Katrina and I had Marine/Navy wives call me that I hadn't seen in years. Now Dennis is dying and did anyone come to see me? My mom and dad and my best friend Suzette from Alaska, that's all. Suzette has been here 4 times in the past 7 months and she is on a fixed income. Money shouldn't matter when it comes to being and helping the people you love. I don't want anymore empty promises from anyone. I know the people I can count on that would drop everything on a dime to be with me and that's what I need now. I have to watch my husband die everyday. Do you have any idea what it's like? No, I didn't think so. Dennis promised me a life time of love. This November we will be married for 7 years and out of that time I really have only had 3 good years with him. OK I'm done, I could write so much more but what good would it do? On a side note, Sam and Sara's mom (Mona) calls me all the time. Even though we have all gone through hard bad times she understands that Dennis is the father of her children and cares enough to let the old anger die and makes a sincere effort to be supportive. Never in my life would I ever think this would be capable but I am so happy it does.

Penis enlargement cosmetic surgery - this cosmetic surgery is perhaps the least talked about probably arising from the fear of social stigma. Penis enlargement surgery is also known as penis augmentation or penile enhancement surgery.
However, is a penis enlargement surgery necessary is the surgery safe? - almost all men, will have experienced, if not all some anxiety about the size or appearance of their penises. This is because men with small penises perceive that their manhood is compromised. For most men, these feelings will pass and fade away, they can be, however for others persistent and even be downright distressing. Concerns about the look of a man' s penis can lead to avoidance of sexual relationships and activities which other people might see him in nude. This is why many men will look for ways to enlarge their penis.
Such men are not only embarrassed by the apparent smallness of their penis, but frequently also feel ashamed about their anxiety too. - penis enlargement surgeries consist of two surgical procedures. It is common for patients to have both penis enlargement surgeries done at the same time. It done to either increase the girth of the penis or to increase the length of the penis. Increasing the girth of the penis relies on fat cells being transplanted or injected around the penis. This surgical procedure is known as fat transfer so as to bulk up the penis.
However it is unlike a liposuction procedure where fat cells are being sucked out. - the problem is that the transplanted fat cells will feel soft. To some penis enlargement patients, the re - absorption of the injected fat is uneven and the penis is left looking out of shape and lumpy. Furthermore, increases in the girth size of the penis achieved in this procedure can often be reversed as the fat cells can be re - absorbed into the body. However, by using the dermal transfer, fat re - absorption problem can be circumvented. The skin stops the fat from being re - absorbed into the body. Dermal transfer uses strips of skin and fat together in the transplant surgery.
As dermal transfer procedure requires strips of skin and fat to be grafted onto the penis, it is more complicated and the risk of disfigurement is even higher. - this tissue normally extends from the penis back into the body. The tissue in the penis that fills with blood, especially during an erection is called the corpora cavernosa. In some cases, as much as up to 50% of the corpora cavernosa may be inside the body and thus cannot be visibly seen. Releasing the concealed part of the penis is done by cutting the suspensory ligaments that keep the corpora cavernosa anchored within the body. Penis lengthening surgery will render the release the concealed tissue which has the effect of increasing the length of the penis. This will release the hidden in the body part of the penis forward so achieving additional penis length outside the body that is visible.
The side effect of this penis lengthening surgery is that the ligament is no longer anchored to the pubic bone and so the penis can be said to be in a floating and loose condition. - this penis lengthening surgery can result in substantial flaccid penis size lengthening although sometimes only achieving only a small increase in length of the penis during an erection. If the penis is flaccid then there will usually not be any problems. Since the penis is floating loose from the pubic bone, the erect penis can slip and shift around during sex. However if the penis is erect then several complications may happen. Without the ligament to hold it, erections can actually point downwards or sideways.
Although penis enlargement surgery technique has improved, many surgeons will not recommend penis enlargement surgery to their patients because of the inherent risks it carries. - today, through more sophisticated surgical techniques, this condition can be minimized.

If you are a health-conscious person, you would have come across the word diabetes mellitus or even heard of it a few times yourself. Thus, with that in mind, I will focus briefly on the aspect of classification and non-pharmacological therapy of DM.
Classification of Diabetes
Type 1 DM
Type 1 DM is known as insulin-dependent DM as patients have little or unable to synthesize insulin hormone. Hence the name, they will eventually be dependent on insulin injection for their survival. This type of DM is a result of the autoimmune destruction of ?cells (which produces the insulin hormone) in the pancreas. It mostly occurs in adolescent and children. In general, they are less than 30 years old with a lean body habitus. However in some cases, it could also be found at any age group.
Type 2 DM
On the other hand, Type 2 DM is different from Type 1 in which it is characterized by insulin resistance where in the initial stage, it lacks of insulin secretion. In such a case, although the pancreas retains some ability to produce insulin but it is insufficient to convert the blood glucose to glucagon following the bodys needs resulting in accumulation of blood glucose. Alternatively, the body cells can also become resistant towards the insulin produced by the ?cells. As a result, blood glucose level is increased and led to hyperglycemia (high blood glucose level).
Most individuals with type 2 DM exhibit abdominal obesity which itself can cause insulin resistance. Furthermore, patient usually has co-existence of other medical disorders such as hypertension, dyslipidemia (high triglyceride levels and low HDL-cholesterol levels), and heart diseases. Clustering of abnormalities is normally referred as insulin-resistance syndrome which can also increase the risk of developing macrovascular complications (ischaemic heart disease, cerebrovascular disease and peripheral vascular disease).
Owing to its gradual development in the age of onset and average of more than 30 years old in most patients, Type 2 is also known as maturity-onset DM. This type of DM is highly genetic predisposition regardless to ethnicity.
Gestational DM
GDM is defined as glucose intolerance which is found during pregnancy. It has complicated about 7% of all pregnancies. It is important to have a early clinical detection in pregnant women whereby such therapy will help to reduce the perinatal morbidity and mortality risk.
Non-Pharmacologic Therapy
Regardless of the type of DM, patient should take initiative in preventing the complications of DM. Apart from prescribed medications by doctor; non-pharmacologic therapies should not be neglected as well.
Diet
This is one of the cornerstones in DM management. Success cannot be achieved without a proper diet therapy even though if you comply fully with your given medications. The followings are general recommendations:
1.Obtain counseling from a dietitian on individual nutrition based on your health conditions. This is aim to provide a balanced diet to achieve and maintain a healthy body weight.
2.Restrict intake of high sugar-containing foods such as cakes and ice-cream and other carbohydrates.
3.Reduction of intake of saturated fats in all diabetic patients as it can complicate their abnormal medical conditions.
Physical Activity
Most diabetic patients can benefit from increased physical activity such as walking, aerobic exercise, gardening and cycling. However, the type and intensity should be individualized. For example, an older patient should have a cardiovascular evaluation including a graded exercise test with imaging prior to beginning a moderate to intense exercise regimen.
It is advisable for those previously having a sedentary lifestyle patient to start exercise slowly. Preferably, a daily minimum of 3-5 times per weeks with at least 30 minutes each session. It is a good thing that physical activities are cumulative where three 10 minute sessions in a day is equivalent to a 30 minute session. This is most encouraging and you will no longer has any excuse to neglect the importance of physical activities.
If you have any doubt, consult with your doctor beforehand before initiating any non-pharmacologic therapy! Do not be take it upon yourself and put your health at risk.

Want to know the easy way to get pregnant? The answer remains the same throughout the ages: sex. However, more sex doesn't necessarily mean more chances of getting pregnant. You need to realize that getting pregnant isn't just about playing in the bedroom. Also, for those of us who have been trying to get pregnant for a while now, we know how frustrating it is even just trying it "one more time."
First of all, don't believe in the myth that the more sex you have, the better chances of getting pregnant. The thing with myths like this is that it makes it even harder to get pregnant, because couples don't really know what their doing and only end up frustrated. You need to know, first and foremost, that a woman is fertile only during a limited period of time in a month. In fact, women only have around 25 percent chance of getting pregnant every month.
Timing - To get started, make sure you employ the right timing when trying to get pregnant. Don't simply determine the day you ovulate based on a standard chart. The truth is, not all women ovulate on exactly day 14 of their cycles. If you've noticed, you may have a different cycle from your friend's cycle. An easy way to get pregnant is to use ovulation test kits, which help you determine ovulation within about 36 hours. It is best to have unprotected sex several days leading up to ovulation as well as the day of ovulation.
Relax - Now that you know a bit about timing, can you apply this to your lifestyle on a month-to-month basis? Getting the right timing me sound easy, but throw in stress from work and all those worries you have. These things can immediately turn you and/or your partner off and put sex aside. Stress can worsen performance and thus make it even harder to get pregnant. De-stress by joining support groups or simply having a support buddy such as a friend or relative. Stretching exercises are also good for de-stressing.
Enjoy It - Sometimes sex can become a drag after awhile, so it is essential that you keep sex enjoyable for you and your partner. Try not to think of sex as an obligation or chore just because you are planning to have a baby. Sex becomes an easy way to get pregnant if you actually enjoy the sex.
Scents and Sex - A tip is to use aromatherapy techniques to spice up the bedroom. Not only can an aromatherapy massage help you and your partner relax, but it is also used to boost women's reproductive health. It is able to help regulate the menstrual cycle and relieve tension. The best essential oils to use when trying to conceive are geranium, rose, balm, basil, lavender, jasmine and chamomile.
Supplements - To boost sex drive, there are foods that act as natural aphrodisiacs. Try to eat more foods that are filled with vitamins A and E, as these are known to improve libido and have a good effect on reproductive organs. Foods rich in vitamins A and E include cod liver, eggs and carrots. Other natural aphrodisiacs include oysters, mussels, caviar, milk, tomatoes, asparagus, strawberries, mangoes, and chocolate. Herbs and spices that are considered natural aphrodisiacs are nutmeg, curry, basil and chili.
Want to get pregnant? Everyone knows one becomes pregnant through sexual intercourse. But you know better when you do it the right way and recognize good timing. As you can see, even food can show you the easy way to get pregnant.
